Abstract

Knee pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders among middle-aged and elderly women, often limiting daily activities and reducing quality of life. The present study investigates the effects of aerobic training combined with muscle strengthening in a 56-year-old woman suffering from bilateral knee pain due to osteoarthritis.

A three-week evidence-based intervention, including aerobic cycling, stretching, and strengthening exercises, was administered. The participant showed remarkable improvement — her pain level reduced from 7/10 to 2/10 on the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), accompanied by a 3 kg reduction in weight and improved functional mobility.

This study emphasizes the importance of integrating aerobic training and lifestyle modifications into physiotherapeutic care for individuals with degenerative joint pain.
