Abstract

Using secondary data, this study investigates how a structured yoga program affects college-age teenagers' executive functioning. Databases including PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and PsycINFO were searched in order to do a systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Included were studies that assessed yoga therapies and reported on cognitive outcomes such working memory, attention, cognitive flexibility, and inhibitory control. The results of the literature study show that yoga programs regularly enhance a number of executive functioning skills in teenagers enrolled in school, including working memory and attentional control. According to the synthesis of the existing data, yoga is a low-cost, non-pharmacological, and successful method of improving cognitive function in teenagers enrolled in college.
